Prepare an interactive slide using iSlides
Select a slide from your presentation.
Insert iSlides into the slide.
Select the interactive diagram you are going to use.
Prepare the interactive diagram editing its contents.
- Remember that you may edit the diagram both in design and in slide show modes.
- The preparation of an interactive diagram depends on the characteristics of the diagram and the design of the activity you want to perform.
- For example, if your activity is to collect ideas regarding a topic, you could use “Sticky notes”, adding a text field with the topic to be treated.
- Another example, if your activity is to answer a survey, you could use “Multiple Choice Survey” and you will need to prepare the diagram by editing the list of questions and the scale of answers.
Start and develop your presentation until you reach the interactive slide
Start your presentation as usual.
Advance until you reach the interactive slide.
Prepare your audience to participate in the activity
In the interactive diagram, press the 
button to show the “Presentation code”.
Invite your audience to participate from your cell phones using iSlidesMobile or from any device from the website “participar.cl” / “m.islides.cl”.
- iSlidesMobile is an application for Android and is available on Google Play.
- “participar.cl” / “m.islides.cl” is the iSlidesMobile web version. You can access it from any device using a web browser. It works from Android, iPhone, Tablets, iPad, Notebook and PC’s desktop devices.
Indicate your audience to Login and then connect to your presentation by entering the presentation code.
- You can observe the number of participants connected to your presentation in the participation box.
Activate participation and perform your activity
To activate the participation, press the “Participate” button that appears at the iSlides window bottom left. The indicator will be green.
- The active activity title is shown in your audience devices.
Indicate your audience to enter the activity and participate in it.
- The participation way depends on the interactive diagram in use.
Develop the activity.
To deactivate the participation, press the “Participate” button that appears at the bottom of the iSlides window. The indicator will turn red.
- Audience devices will display the waiting state.
When the activity ends, you may continue with your presentation
Continue with your presentation as usual.
At the end of your presentation, remember to save the file to keep the changes
Interactive diagram data, including participation data, are saved in the “.pptx” file, as are changes made in PowerPoint.
Keep in mind that…
- You may add one or more iSlides in a presentation.
- You can only activate participation in a single interactive diagram. if you turn on “Participate” in a second interactive diagram, participation in the previous diagram is automatically disabled.
- The “Participate” button only appears in presentation mode.
- In some interactive diagrams, it will be enough to activate the “Participate” button to receive the participation of your audience.
- In other interactive diagrams you have to activate a second level of control to develop the activity, for example, “Send responses”.
- If you disable participation while your audience is working on an activity (e.g., responding a survey, writing a text) you will force the audience devices out of the activity and lose not sent work.
- If you change slide (going forward or back) while your audience is working on an activity, participation keeps going and audience contributions (or responses) will continue to be received.
- In PowerPoint online, when participation in an interactive diagram is activated and then move to another slide with iSlides, the participation of the previous diagram will be automatically deactivated.
- In PowerPoint desktop and Office 365 when participation in an interactive diagram is activated and move to another slide with iSlides, the participation of the previous diagram will not be deactivated until it activates participation in the current diagram.
